Welcome to Camerapedia.org, a free-content encyclopedia of camera information. The goal of this site is to be a repository for information and links to information about all still camera brands and models. You know your camera equipment better than anyone. Please share that knowledge with everyone and contribute. To learn more about this project you can read the About Camerapedia.org page.

Introduction to Cameras

A camera is just a means to an end; a tool for producing photographs. That's easy to say but for some it is like saying to a car enthusiast that a Ferrari is just a means of getting from point A to point B. It is not uncommon for a craftsman to fall in love with his tools but photographers seem particularly susceptible to camera lust. A little understanding of how the camera as a tool works will help with its selection, care and operation.
