Following a year after the launch of Canon's pro-level EOS-1D Mark II, the "N" revision increased the diagonal of the rear LCD from 2" to 2.5", and added other modest refinements such as the ability in raw-jpeg mode to write the files on two separate cards. It was replaced by the EOS-1D Mark III in 2007.
