The 10megapixel EOS 1000D DSLR was announced by Canon on 10 June 2008[1]. It was also known as the Rebel XS in the US, and Kiss F in Japan.

The 1000D was available as a body only, packaged with a 18-55 f3.5-5.6 lens, or with this lens and a 55-200mm or 75-300mm as a twin lens pack.
