The Ricoh GR Digital has been introduced by Ricoh in 2005, as digital replacement of the analog Ricoh GR1 and its analog successors (1996-2001). The GR Digital saw 3 revisions, the GR Digital II in 2007, the GR Digital III in 2009, and the Ricoh GR Digital IV in 2011, and was replaced in 2013 by the Ricoh GR which has a larger sensor. All digital GRs have a wide angle lens with a viewing angle like a 28mm lens for 35mm film, of course with more depth-of-field than the analog lens.
GR Digital major specifications:
- Magnesium body
- CCD: 1/1.8-inch primary-color CCD. Effective 8.13 million pixels (total pixels: 8,300,000)
- GR Lens: Focal length 5.9 mm (equivalent to 28 mm for 135 film cameras), 6 glass elements in 5 groups.
- Aperture: f/2.4, 7 blades
- Shutter: 180, 120, 60, 30, 15, 8, 4, 2, 1 - 1/2,000 sec.
- Focus: Autofocus, manual focus, snap, infinity (AF supplemental light also available)
- Macro: 1.5 cm
- ISO Sensitivity: Auto, 64, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600
- Display: 2.5 inch low-noise polysilicon TFT LCD; about 210,000 pixels
- Flash: pop-up flash, reaching 3 metres, or external digital flash on hot shoe
- Dimensions: 107.0 x 25.0 x 58.0 mm (WxDxH); does not include protruding parts
