Newman & Guardia was one of the most profiled companies in the great era of British camera making around 1900. One of its founders was the great photography engineer Arthur Samuel Newman who invented the leaf shutter and was one of the founders of the Royal Photographic Society.
The company made a wide range of plate cameras and roll film folders. It was based in London. Many of its cameras were equipped with Ross Xpres or Carl Zeiss lenses.
