14 exposures

Looking at the film gate in the auction photos a 30 x 40mm image area seems plausible, and there's ample room for 14 of those frames on the length of the 127 film I have seen. The red window is centered, i.e. it would be aligned with the 8 exposure per roll frame numbers on the backing paper—so surely it is only used to line up #1 at the start of the roll? Would be interesting to know how the camera measures out the frame spacing, though.--Vox (talk) 15:42, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

Oh, bingo, the number of exposures discussed in detail among lots of Royal Photographic Society back issues--Vox (talk) 16:09, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
Nice find (and nice resource)! Dustin McAmera (talk) 18:20, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
You 'should' get sixteen frames; 127 film is numbered 1-8 and this is the half-frame format. All of my 3x4cm cameras give sixteen frames, but then they all require that you use the red window the whole way along. I guess there must be a non-circular gear attached to the frame counter, that makes the winder turn less turns as the counter progresses. Dustin McAmera (talk) 18:36, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
