Zenit cameras (sometimes badged in cyrillic, ЗЕНИТ) were made by the KMZ factory near Moscow. The original Zenit was an SLR based on the Zorki rangefinder.
The lens mount is in fact a ZM39. If you mount a regular LTM 39 mm lens on these cameras you can only focus at close range, no infinity focus due to the lens position.
