Old message left when I blocked this account in error: --Dustin McAmera (talk) 08:42, 22 January 2016 (CST)

User Silverimagelimited never made any edits, and the account has been blocked as part of our measures against spammers.
If you are Silverimagelimited:

  1. Note that you don't need a User name to read the articles at Camera-wiki.org; you only have to log in if you want to edit the pages or create new ones.
  2. If you really want to be registered as a User, we can unblock this account (you can contact one of the Administrators via our Flickr group), but is likely to be blocked again after a while, if you don't make any edits!

Noticed that this name does correspond to a Flickr handle, although not active lately. Thoughts? --Vox (talk) 22:28, 21 January 2016 (CST)
Ah yes. Nice camera pictures too. I'll remove the block!--Dustin McAmera (talk) 08:42, 22 January 2016 (CST)

Hello again!

Hello again Silverimagelimited! As you may see from the entries above, I was in the process of tidying your user account away, until my fellow admin Vox pointed out that you're also present at Flickr. Sorry about that! We have had a lot of accounts registered in the last few months, many (in fact most) by spammers, who just want to drop advertisements into the wiki, and I may have been a bit over-eager to delete inactive accounts.

So welcome, and I'll put back our robot Botscura's automated welcome too:

Welcome to Camera-Wiki.org!

Thanks for creating an account here on Camera-Wiki.org! We appreciate your willingness to help us create the most comprehensive camera and photography encyclopedia on the web. Camera-Wiki.org is a big website, so we'd like to offer a few quick pointers to help get you started.

You also have a profile page that you can edit to tell us more about yourself if you'd like. It's purely optional but it's always nice to get to know another camera lover.

This website uses software called Mediawiki that's also used by WikiPedia. If you already know how to use and edit WikiPedia, you'll feel right at home here. If not, we have special page where you can learn to edit, called the Sandbox. It's a place where you try things out and experiment with no worries of breaking anything.
