Discussion should be on this page, no?
I'd like to make a request that if you're working on a Flickr image template, that occasionally you make a mention of it on the google-group mailing list. For example, what is the intended goal; what difficulties do you see with the other alternatives, etc. I am a little confused by this duplication of effort by three individuals, when we do have other issues on our plates. I also want to be sure that any Flickr template will remain compatible with whatever Steevithak cooks up as an automated Flickr importer tool, work he promised he was beginning soon. --Vox 13:03, 5 May 2011 (PDT)
- I'm sorry that I created a third version of the template. Here are my reasons:
- Template: Flickr image dev currently has no option for centered images
- Template: Flickr image xhtml 1.0 strict now has a very complicated markup and has a very strange management of centered images, only possible for 250-pixel wide pictures
- But my own proposal is not good either because of a problem when a centered image goes under a floated element, as on the example displayed here. --NihonCamera 13:36, 5 May 2011 (PDT)
Text from "noinclude"-part: Here is my own proposal for the Flickr image template. It is for a single image only, and uses div's in the simplest possible way. --NihonCamera 10:47, 5 May 2011 (PDT)
- I'm not against usage of personal templates. We've seen the disadvantages of Your approach on page Template talk:Flickr image xhtml 1.0 strict where a new version of our standard Flickr image template Template:Flickr image is discussed. Steevithak's Template:Flickr_image_dev has the same disadvantage (caption not always centered under a centerd image). A good idea already taken over from Your approach is the div with margin-top for the caption. Thank You.U. Kulick 12:29, 5 May 2011 (PDT)
