The Canon P is a 35mm rangefinder camera manufactured by Canon from about 1958 to 1961. The "P" designation is for "Populaire". It is compatible with Canon and Leica screw mount lenses. It uses a metal horizontally traveling focal plane shutter with speed of 1 to 1/1000, B and X flash sync at 1/55th of a sec. The finder has parallax correction with frame lines for 35mm, 50mm and 100mm lenses.
