Shenyang Zhongyi Optical & Electronic Company Ltd (known as Zhongyi Optics or ZY Optics) is a lens-maker in Shenyang, China about 60 miles west of the border with North Korea. The company was started in 1984, as a twenty-year joint venture with a Japanese investor.[1]
The company uses the brand Mitakon in addition to Zhongyi. Products include MF-lens adaptors for CSC cameras, but also makes complete lenses. Zhongyi was already active in the heyday of manual-focusing 35mm film SLR system bodies, making lenses in popular mounts.
