In 2008 Sony reduced its line of APS-C format DSLRs to simpler models like the Sony Alpha DSLR-A200 and the 10.2 megapixel Sony Alpha DSLR-A300. Valuable elements like the second main function dial or the DOF check button were omitted to reduce production cost.
