This camera from Nippon Kōgaku was the successor to the Nikomat/Nikkormat FT series.

Introduced in 1967, the FTN is almost identical to the FT, but for:

  • TTL metering is centre-weighted whereas that of the FT averaged the frame.
  • the viewfinder gained new +/– over/underexposure metering markers, and
  • a shutter speed display - via a Judas window.
  • The lens mounting procedure was slightly simplified.

The FTN was produced until 1976, with minor modifications.
