The PowerShot SD1000 was a 2007 release in Canon's popular series of compact digital cameras, which originated in 2000 with the S100. The styling was inspired by those earlier models (andeven the APS film Ixus/Elph), but the specs had been upgraded to a 3x zoom and a 7 megapixel sensor. As the name suggested, SD cards were used for storage (rather than CompactFlash), contributing to a slimmer case.
