The PowerShot SD1000 was a 2007 release in Canon's popular series of compact digital cameras, which originated in 2000 with the S100. The styling was inspired by those earlier models (and even the APS film Ixus/Elph), but the specs had been upgraded to a 3x zoom and a 7 megapixel sensor. As the name suggested, SD cards were used for storage (rather than CompactFlash), contributing to a slimmer case.
