The 2002 Canon PowerShot S200 (Digital IXUS v2, Digital IXY 200a) was an evolution of the metal-clad digital compacts Canon had pioneered in its S100 and S110—among the smallest on the market in their day.

The S200's body size, 2-megapixel CCD sensor, and 2× zoom remain the same from those earlier models; added is a useful four-way button controller on the rear of the camera. There is a 1.5 inch LCD monitor on the back as well as a traditional optical viewfinder. Images are stored on CompactFlash media.
