The Canon EOS IX Lite is budget version of its EOS IX APS film SLR. It is also known as the EOS IX 7 or the EOS IX 50 in Japan.

It uses Canon EF autofocus lenses. The most common kit lens it came bundled with includes the EF22-55mm f/4.5-5.6 USM and EF55-200mm f/4.5-5.6USM. The camera features a three point auto focus with a AF assist beam. The shutter has speeds of 1/30 to 1/2000 with a 1/125 sync. A program mode dial is at the back of the camera offering Auto, P, AV and manual. Portrait, landscape, macro, sport and night mode are also provided. A LCD panel is also on the back with all the cameras settings view able at a quick glance. A pop up 3 zone TTL flash is provided along with a hot shoe compatible with speed light flashes such as 380EX and the 280EX. The body weighs 360g and is powered by 2x CR2 lithium batteries.
