Hi! Camera-wiki.org is a wiki about cameras, photography, and their history. If you're interested in contributing to it, that's great — welcome! We have a FAQ page if you'd like to learn more about our project.
The next thing to do might be to read some of the Help pages, to get an idea of how to edit pages. Generally, text added to wiki articles should be in English. You might also write a little bit about yourself and your camera interests on your User page.
We have had a problem recently with large numbers of accounts being created by spammers. To combat this, new accounts are blocked if they aren't used fairly quickly (within about a day after being created); and of course an account is blocked immediately if it becomes clear it was created just to put advertising into the wiki. So at the very least, please write a short reply here to reassure the admins that you're not one of the spammers; otherwise, your account may be deleted.

Hi! Thanks again for your recent work. However, I see several of your recent edits summarised with to differentiate this entry from Camerapedia's; I'm wondering if that's a proper reason for changing an article. You know (I guess?) that we came from Camerapedia in the first place, and some of the people who wrote those CP articles are now Camera-wiki editors. Please don't change the style of articles, still less the content, just for the sake of being different. --Dustin McAmera (talk) 12:31, 29 December 2012 (PST)
Thanks for the input, I will refrain in the future. One recent discussion mentioned the fact that CP entries, though not maintained and now under commercial management, consistently get higher ranks in web searches (i.e. Google). Several other reasons are explained in there (domain age, links from other domains, "quotes" from other cameras at CP footer, etc), but the fact that exactly the same information is in both places indeed does not help. I'd rather see a non-commercial project success over a profit-driven one. Nevertheless, point taken. --J. Noir (talk) 15:46, 30 December 2012 (PST)
On second thought and after some open dicussion with some people, I think I misunderstood the goal of this project, and therefore I no longer feel identified with it.
I'd rather focus on other, more appealing projects.
Best of luck !
