Hi! Camera-wiki.org is a wiki about cameras, photography, and their history. If you're interested in contributing to it, that's great — welcome! We have a FAQ page if you'd like to learn more about our project.

The next thing to do might be to read some of the Help pages, to get an idea of how to edit pages. Generally, text added to wiki articles should be in English. You might also write a little bit about yourself and your camera interests on your User page.

We have had a problem recently with large numbers of accounts being created by spammers. To combat this, new accounts are blocked if they aren't used fairly quickly (within about a day after being created); and of course an account is blocked immediately if it becomes clear it was created just to put advertising into the wiki. So at the very least, please write a short reply here to reassure the admins that you're not one of the spammers; otherwise, your account may be deleted.

Cheers!

Hello. Please read the Help:Adding images section of the wiki. On Fujifilm Fotonex 3500ix Zoom, you replaced a photo, but also have mismatched image rights. The original photo is marked with permission, but you marked it here on the wiki as non-commercial.--Tkmedia 07:48, 1 April 2012 (PDT)
Hi Bandersj (John?) Thanks for joining, and wanting to help the wiki. But as Tkmedia asks, be sure you understand how we do things before making changes. The earlier John Nuttall photo was fine—it didn't need to be replaced. It just had a broken JPG link, which happens occasionally because of Flickr quirks, but is easy to fix. Also, be sure you understand the difference between a footnote (where the reference is typed inline with the body text) and a simple external link (which should go in a separate "Links" section). Look at the source of some other pages to see how it works.
Finally, just copying a manufacturer's promotional blurbs ("our camera is the greatest one ever made!") is not really useful. Just describe a camera's notable features in plain English. I've revised the Fotonex page with a few changes to show a better style. --Vox 08:05, 1 April 2012 (PDT)
