Questions
I find this hard to understand:
- It tells us If the image was not uploaded by its author, the author= parameter or instead the name= parameter must be set.
- Is it only for images? If so, isn't it superseded by other templates? If it isn't only for images, then reword.
- If the image or whatever was uploaded by its author, would this be helpful without the author's name?
- What's the difference between the "author=" and the "name=" parameters? (Why choose the one over the other? If they're the same, better to say so explicitly, so that people don't worry over the choice between the two.)
- It says: Fully copyright protected works need a year= parameter too.
- Mightn't "Conventionally copyright works ('all rights reserved', not copyleft)" be easier to understand?
- Shouldn't assertions of copyleft too be dated? (After all, copyleft too is a form of copyright.)
- It says: Here are 3 variants of the template's call. I think this means: "Here are three examples of use of the template", which I find easier to understand.
- It tells us If the user= parameter is chosen it should name exactly the wiki user name of the copyright holder.
- I think that "name exactly" should read "be precisely the same as".
- "the wiki user name" sounds vague. Guess: "the username within Camera-wiki.org (or the username at the time within Camerapedia.org) of the copyright holder". (Although I fear that for clarity these should be two alternative fields, perhaps "userCW=" and "userCP=". A change that unfortunately might entail more work.)
... NB I may have made one or more misunderstandings. Zuleika 01:48, 3 April 2011 (PDT)
