An important item on the To Do list is needing to set up a regular procedure for picking featured articles. I would like this to be a bit more open and democratic than simply "whoever gets there first" deciding.

The articles featured on the front page of the site have a big influence on how visitors perceive us. They have to be polished, and use the best practices we encourage new page contributors to adopt. None of the three articles shown are using the current Flickr image template; and all of them are loaded with photos showing "camerapedia" as the photo pool. The Polaroid article has photos (like this one) which are "all rights reserved" but not in the Camera-wiki photo pool. All of this would need to be fixed before I'd feel comfortable making these "featured articles."--Vox 18:25, 13 April 2011 (PDT)

You ignored these concerns, and went ahead without any discussion. As a result I needed to do a lot of emergency work to fix the problems. I have not even begun to read the text of the articles, to see if it makes sense. I still think the Polaroid Integral 600 page is kind of a wreck, but at least the attributions & rights are mostly there now.
Next time, we need to have a more thoughtful and democratic process for choosing featured articles. --Vox 08:08, 2 May 2011 (PDT)
