Is this page serving any purpose? Geoff H (talk) 20:53, 11 April 2015 (CDT)

I really don't know but suppose it is a standard template in Wikimedia. Better leave it as is. Hanskerensky (talk) 02:54, 12 April 2015 (CDT)

I don't understand what it's for, but looking at it in the edit window and consulting the Help at MediaWiki, the safesubst: thing can used if you include a Template in a wiki page, but you want the page to be saved with the rendered version of the template, rather than re-calling the template every time the page is viewed. There's another similar one: Template/If. I can't find any evidence that these have been used for anything, but because of what safesubst does, maybe they don't leave footprints! Both have a one-line history; Uwe creating the page in 2011, with (ahem!) no edit summary. They are essentially programming, so I doubt they are correct, whatever they're for (simply because nobody writes even a couple of lines of program with that many brackets, and gets no errors; and indeed, Template/Len displays as an error message). My guess is that Uwe was trying something out, and forgot about the pages. Maybe a message to Uwe? --Dustin McAmera (talk) 13:52, 12 April 2015 (CDT)
