Minolta CL

All the CL pictures I have seen with Minolta markings are engraved Leitz Minolta CL. What is the source for the "Minolta CL" designation? --Rebollo fr 11:18, 30 September 2006 (EDT)

Response: My error. I was confused with the Minolta CLE. I will correct. --Shadesofgrey 15:28, 1 October 2006 (EDT)

In fact this Cameraquest page mentions the "Minolta CL" as sold in Japan and in the US after the Leica CL ceased to be sold.
I have never seen any picture, and no other source mentions it. (Except this page at Pascal's Leica Pages, probably after Cameraquest.) Did someone ever see a Minolta CL? (My guess is that the denomination "Minolta CL" was perhaps used in Minolta ads and literature after the Leica CL was stopped, but that the camera was still marked "Leitz Minolta CL".)

Since last post, I did not see any "Minolta CL" in any source, whereas I saw a number of pictures of the Leitz/Minolta CL in various Japanese publications. --Rebollo fr 15:58, 6 April 2007 (EDT)

Quality of the Summicron-C

I removed the following sentence: "The Summicron-C 40mm is reputed to be one of Leitz's sharpest lenses." Maybe it was the opinion at the time, and in that case some source is needed, but I would be very surprised if this lens was still considered one of Leitz's sharpest. --Rebollo fr 11:29, 8 October 2006 (EDT)

Rokkor filters

Currently we have that the "Rokkor-branded lenses for the CL and CLE take the more easily found 40.5mm filter size." This is sure for the CLE lenses, is it so for the CL lenses? My thought would be that they are identical to the Leica ones, but it could be false. The sources are a bit contradictory about the filter size: for example this page of the Manual Minolta website says 40.5mm for CL and CLE lenses, while Cameraquest says that the CLE lenses newly adopted the 40.5mm size. --Rebollo fr 12:28, 8 October 2006 (EDT)

The Rokkor branded C lenses use 40.5mm filters. --Shadesofgrey 22:44, 10 October 2006 (EDT)
