The TL 1000 is a 35mm film SLR marketed by Ihagee Kamerawerk. While engraved Ihagee West alongside the eyepiece, the camera is stamped 'Made in Japan' on the base and was designed and manufactured by the Japanese company Petri. It resembles the Petri FTX; but with the top-mounted shutter release of the FT 1000.

This is a rather generic stopdown-metering SLR for 42mm screw lenses, although the "1000" offers the higher top shutter speed and self-timer missing from its economy sibling the Exakta TL 500.
