Biauma is the brand name on a small number of simple cameras for 35mm film. It is not certain that Biauma is the company name of the maker. It seems likely that at least some of these cameras were made by Lavec of Taiwan.

Cameras

  • Biauma B-1 - 35mm viewfinder camera with black moulded-plastic body. Lens marked 'NEW COLOR OPTICAL LENS' and 'F6.3 40mm'.
  • Biauma BX-1 - essentially the same camera, but with chrome-effect (silver paint on the plastic) 'top housing' and 'base plate', and a faux pentaprism moulding. Very similar to some versions of the Time Magazine Camera.
  • Biauma L-B[1] - very similar camera body to the B-1, but with chrome-effect top and bottom, and with the lens marked as 'LAVEC OPTICAL GLASS LENS' and '1:6 F=50M/M SERIES 323400'. The lens is in a deep tube, but most of this is in front of the lens, giving both a long (but non-functional) 'focusing ring', and the built-in 'hood' of some macro lenses.

There is a camera very similar to the B-1, marked Maysun, perhaps by the same maker.
