The Sony Alpha A230 was introduced on May 17th, 2009 to replace the Alpha A200. In addition to restyling, Sony put substantial work into the cameras' image processing engines.

Construction

The α230 camera is the lightest, most compact alpha DSLR camera body ever at 15.9 ounces. With SteadyShot INSIDE™ in-camera image stabilization is built into each camera body, so every α-mount lens benefits from the ability to minimize blur due to camera shake.
