The P3 (US, P30 elsewhere) was an 35mm film SLR released by Pentax in 1985. It used manual focus lenses with the KA-mount bayonet. They use a manual film advance lever. The electronic shutter is in speeds of 1 to 1/1000 sec. It has program, manual, X and B exposure modes. The meter is a center-weighted type with a range of 1 to 18 EV. There are two revision of the body, late versions are compatible with cable release while earlier ones are not. It is compatible with DX Encoding film with a ISO range of 25 to 1600. It is powered by two 1.5v SR44 or LR44 button batteries.

An similar improved Pentax P30n/P3n/P30t became available three years later.
