Introduced by Pentax in 2006, the K100D is a digital SLR with a 6 megapixel, APS-C sensor, positioned as a less-expensive alternative to the K10D. The Pentax K110D is a similar model which lacks the K100D's sensor-shift image stabilization.

In 2007 Pentax brought out a slightly-upgraded K100D Super which added sensor-shake dust removal and support for SDM autofocus lenses (i.e. lenses with their own internal focus motor, rather than being body-driven).

Features

  • 6 megapixel CCD imaging sensor
  • Sensor based image stabilization
  • KAF lens mount
  • Pentax PEF raw format
  • Uses four AA batteries (rechargeables recommended)
  • 4 frame 3fps continuous drive
