Pentax K-1 is the flagship full frame digital SLR by Ricoh Imaging introduced in 2016.
|
The K-1 introduced many improvements over previous cameras. Besides a larger sensor with 36 MP it has a tiltable screen and built-in GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Like most other Pentax DSLRs it has a magnesium alloy body and weather sealing. The internal movement of the sensor, used for image stabilization, is also used in astrophotography to follow the stars (Astro-Tracer[1]), simulating an equatorial mount telescope.
An improved version, called K-1 II, was launched in 2018, and while it has the same sensor, it has had many internal improvements, such as Dynamic Pixel-Shift image enhacement, [2] a new processor, extended sensitivity (ISO 819,200) and autofocus algorithms.
Specifications
- Sensor: 36.4 MP (7,360 x 4,912) full frame (35.9x24.0mm) CMOS sensor, without an anti-aliasing filter.
- K-1 introduced Super Resolution with Pixel-Shift technology.
- K-1 II allows hand-holdable Dynamic Pixel-Shift.
- Mount: Pentax KAF2 and KAF3.
- Lenses of the K and M series are restricted to Av and M.
- M42 lenses can use Av stopped down.
- Viewfinder: Pentaprism with 100% coverage of the field of view. Magnification: 0.70X (with 50mm F1.4 at infinity).
- Overlay: AF points, grid display, electronic level, AF frame, spot metering frame, crop.
- Diopter Adjustment: -3.5 to +1.2.
- Depth of Field Preview: Optical (diaphragm stop-down).
- AF Points: 33-point SAFOX XII module.
- Sensitivity: ISO equivalent 100-204,800; K-1 II: 100-819,200.
- Shutter Speed: 1/8,000 to 30s, Bulb.

- Video Modes: 1920 x 1080 (60i, 50i, 30p, 25p, 24p), 1280 x 720 (60p, 50p, 30p, 25p, 24p).
- Storage Type: Dual SD, SDHC, or SDXC card.
- Wireless Tethering with built in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
- Battery: D-LI90P lithium ion rechargable.
- Battery Pack: D-BG6 for 6AA or D-LI90 battery can also be used as grip to shoot vertical.
- AC-Adapter: K-AC132.
- Weight: 800g (1.76 lb/28.22 oz) with battery and SD card.
- Dimensions: 132.1 x 100 x 78.7mm (5.16 x 3.94 x 3.03 in)
