Announced in March 2008, the Olympus E-420 is the successor to the E-410 camera inheriting from it the title of the smallest, lightest digital single-lens reflex camera in the world. Compared to the E-410 it adds wireless flash capability, a faster 3.5 fps, a larger 2.7" screen, and face detection. It sits under the E-520 model, from which it lacks sensor-shift image stabilisation.
