The Nikon 1 J1 is a mirrorless interchangeable lens digital camera released by Nikon in 2011. A newer Nikon 1 J2 was release in 2012.
It uses a CX format 10 megapixel CMOS sensor. Interchangeable lens use the Nikon 1 lens mount. It is available in black, silver, white, red and pink colour. It was released at the same time as the Nikon 1 V1 model but contains different features. The V1 has a view finder but does not have a built-in flash. The J1 does not have a view finder but has a built-in flash. The J1 also has a lower resolution 460,000 dot screen.
The camera uses a electronic shutter from 30 to 1/16000 sec. Two different types of auto focus are used; phase detection and contrast detection. For media storage it uses Secure Digital cards with support for SDHC, and SDXC. It is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion EN-EL20 battery.
