The Makinette 16 is a subminiature project by Plaubel, dated 1958. It would have made 12x18mm exposures on unperforated 16mm film, but remained at prototype level. Some of these prototypes were sold at Westlicht - see the link below. They have a 29mm f/1.9 Ennalyt lens, and are designed to have a built-in light-meter. One of the prototypes has a second window by the viewfinder, and an assembly apparently with a half-silvered mirror was sold with the lot, suggesting that a rangefinder camera was considered.

The Makinette name was also used by Plaubel for:

  • a 3x4 strut folding camera in the 1930s: see Makinette
  • a 6x7 strut folding camera, prototype of the Makina 67: see Makinette 67
  • maybe a 35mm camera Makinette 35P, reported here.
