Revision as of 21:51, 28 April 2006

Konica Minolta was created by the merger of Konica and Minolta in 2003. All new cameras created since then have got the Konica Minolta badge.

Konica Minolta has announced in January 2006 that it would stop all their activities related to photography, such as camera design and production, analog or digital, as well as the development and production of film and photo paper. They will transfer their digital SLR know-how to Sony, who will develop DSLRs compatible with the Dynax/Maxxum system.

Cameras

These cameras have the Konica Minolta badge. Existing camera models from before the merger still use the previous badge and are listed on the appropriate page. The very first new models from after the merger got the Minolta badge, too, and are listed below.

Dynax/Maxxum/alpha

The Dynax/Maxxum (Maxxum in North America, alpha in Japan, Dynax elsewhere) lenses are Minolta's 35mm Autofocus SLR lenses.

The Dynax line of cameras are the line of cameras that use these lenses.
