Kodak Retinette IIB (Typ 31) image by edjpgcom (Image rights) |
The Kodak Typ 031 Retinette IIB was a product of the German Kodak AG. It was a 35mm viewfinder camera with built-in uncoupled selenium meter similar to the one on the Retina IIIC -- it was the first Retinette model to have an exposure meter. The lens was a Schneider-Kreuznach Reomar 45mm/f2.8 in a Compur-Rapid shutter with speeds from 1-1/500 +B. It featured a dynamic depth-of-field scale coupled to the aperture that was also used on later solid body Retina models. The film was advanced by an all-metal lever mounted underneath the camera. It has the same film counter and 0-exposure interlock as the IIc and IIIc models. The IIB was produced from 1958-1959 and approximately 40,000 were built.
