The Kelly (ケリー) or Semi Kelly (セミケリー)[1] is a Japanese 4.5×6 folding camera, made by Miyoshi Kōgaku at the beginning of the 1940s.[2]
The camera is said to be a Baldax copy, with a front-cell focusing U.L.L. 75/3.5 lens and a Koho shutter giving T, B, 1–150 speeds.[3] It seems that Miyoshi took over the camera producing activity from Proud, and the Semi Kelly is perhaps related to the Semi Proud, another Baldax copy.
The Semi Kelly was featured in a column of the July 1941 issue of Asahi Camera.[4] The camera was mentioned as the Kelly in the official list of set prices compiled in October 1940 and published in January 1941, for ¥160.[5] It was again in a similar price list dated November 1941, where it was attributed to Miyoshi Kōgaku.[6]
