In about 1962, Honeywell imported two autoexposure camera models from Mamiya and sold them under their own branding.
The Electric Eye was the simpler scale-focusing model with an f/2.8 Mamiya-Kominar 40mm lens. Around this was a ring-shaped selenium photocell, located within the filter threads to compensate automatically for the light-loss when filters were used. This was a renaming of the Mamiya EE Merit.
The Electric Eye 35R added rangefinder focus and was a re-branding of the Mamiya EE Super Merit.
These two exact same models were also sold under the Eye-Tronic name by Chicago distributor Mansfield.
