The FZ-500 Zoom is a 35mm autofocus compact cameras from Fuji introduced in 1988. It is also known as the Discovery 500 Zoom in America. Date versions were also available as the FZ-500 Zoom Date, Discovery 500 Zoom Date and as the Zoom Cardia 700 Date as known in Japan.
It features a 35 to 70mm f/3.5-6.7 Fujinon zoom lens. It has a focus range of 1m to infinity. If closer focus is desired the macro mode reduces the focus range to 0.6 to 1m. The lens is protected by a built-in lens cover. It is compatible with DX coded films from 50 to 1600 ISO. It uses a 6V CRP-2 battery.
