From its beginnings as a lens-maker, in 1966[1] Cosina launched its first complete camera, the Cosina Instant Matic (also badged N-284). This was a very simple model for 126 film cartridges.

It's a rarely-seen camera, and certainly could not have been offered for sale in the USA without running into trademark problems with Kodak over a name so similar to Instamatic.
