TX |
In 1975, Canon released the TX, which was a stripped down version of the FTb, for mass market overseas. The TX used a center-weighted averaging light meter, rather than the 12% partial meter of the FTb. The meter used a CdS cell, and provided full-aperture TTL match-needle metering. The camera's stop-down lever had no locking mechanism.
The horizontal-travel cloth focal-plane shutter on the TX offered speeds from 1 to 1/500s, along with B. Autoswitching FP and X flash sync was available on both a PC terminal and a hot shoe.
