The PowerShot S30 was available at the end of 2001 from Canon.
The camera features a 3.2 megapixel 1/1.8" CCD imaging sensor. The sensor produces images with a maximum of 2048 x 1536 pixels. Images can be recorded in Jpeg and Raw. The lens is a f/2.8 - f/4.9, with a 35mm equivalent of 35 - 105mm, giving it a 3.2x zoom. Minimum focusing distance is from 80cm, but in macro mode can go down to 10cm. It uses CompactFlash for media storage. A 16MB card is usually included. The display on the back is a 1.8" TFT type LCD screen. A optical finder is also provided. A USB lead can be used for connectivity. Power is with a rechargeable lithium-ion NB-2L battery.
