The PowerShot A50 is a digital camera from Canon released in 1999.
It uses a 1/2.7" sized CCD sensor. Photos are captured in 1280 x 960 pixels in fine or normal Jpeg fromat. A raw format is also offered. The zoom lens is 2.5x (28-70mm) with an aperture of f/2.6-f/4. It has a focusing distance of 50cm to infinity in normal mode and 17-50 cm in macro mode. The LCD screen is a 2" color TFT type. An optical finder is also available. Power is from 2CR5 battery or the NB-5H rechargeable battery pack. Photos are stored on CompactFlash cards.
