The PowerShot A5 is a digital compact camera released by Canon in 1998.
It uses a 810,000-pixel 1/3" CCD sensor which can capture photos at up to 1024 x 768 pixels in JPEG or Raw. Images can be stored on removable CompactFlash memory cards. An 8MB card is included. It uses a fixed 35mm (equivalent) f/2.5 lens. It can focus from 50cm to infinity in normal mode or 9 to 50cm in macro mode. It uses a 2" color LCD display. Power is from a lithium 2CR5 battery.
A zoom lens version of the camera is available called PowerShot A5 Zoom. It uses a 28-70mm(equivalent) lens, with the reset of the specifications the same except the macro mode focus distance is from 17 to 50cm.
