The PowerShot A40 is a digital camera from Canon released in 2002.
It uses a 2 megapixel 1/2.7" sized CCD sensor. Photos are captured in 1600 x 1200 pixels. The zoom lens is 2.5x (35-105mm) with an aperture of f/2.8-f/4.8. It has a focusing distance of 76cm to infinity in normal mode and 26-76 cm in macro mode. The LCD screen is a 120,000 dot 1.5" color TFT type screen. An optical finder is also available. Power is from 4x AA batteries. Photos are stored on CompactFlash cards.
