The Canon EOS 650 was introduced in 1987. It was the first EOS (electro-optical system) camera. It was a brand new auto focus camera system design that is not based on a legacy manual focus lens mounting system. Canon essentially abandoned their manual focus FD camera systems introduced in the 1970's. The EOS system uses a EF lens mount. EF meaning either Electronic Focus or electrofocus. There are several shooting modes. P: Program. Tv: Shutter-priority (Time value). Av: Aperture priority (Aperture value) and M: Manual.
