It is mostly identical to the EOS 650 but improvements are mostly in the faster shutter speed at 1/4,000s instead of 1/2000s of the EOS 650. The faster shutter speeds also improve when using flash with a 1/250s shutter instead of 1/125 with the EOS 650. It also featured an illuminated LCD screen. The EOS 620 is a 35mm auto focus SLR camera introduced by Canon in 1987. In many markets it was made available a few short months after the introduction of the first EOS camera the EOS 650.

However, unlike the EOS 650, it lacked an automatic depth-of-field mode.
