The Digital IXUS 60 is a ultra compact digital camera announced in 2006 by Canon. In North America it is known as the PowerShot Digital ELPH SD600, and in Japan as Digital IXY 70. In most markets it replaced the previous IXUS 55 / ELPH SD450 / IXY60.
It features a 6 megapixel 1/2.5" CCD sensor. This produces a maximum resolution of 2816 x 2112. The lens has a 35mm equivalent focal length of 35 – 105 mm making it a 3x zoom. Aperture range of f/2.8 - f/4.9. The closest focus distance is 30cm in normal mode and 3cm in macro mode. The shutter speed is from 15 to 1/1500. The camera back features a 173,000 pixel 2.5" LCD screen and still has a optical viewfinder. Pictures are stored in JPEG format and video uses MJPEG video codec. Data is stored in Secure Digital card. Connectivity options include High Speed USB 2 for computer transfers. It uses a rechargeable NB-4L lithium-ion rechargeable battery.
