Glossary Terms

Manufacturers sometimes produce identical or near-identical cameras with different names, so the name is the only, or biggest difference between them. These may be called name variants. For example, Yamato's Pax M3 was also sold by them as the Pal M3, the Lycon M3 and the Skymaster. The term is also applied to cameras sold by one company which are made by another, and are near-identical to one of that maker's own models. For example, Zeh's Goldi was also sold by Rodenstock as the Ysella. Many of Sears' 'Tower' models are name-variants of other makers' cameras.
