Rondine

The Rondine is a box camera made by Ferrania, Italy, in 1948. Its name means Swallow in Italian. It has an all metal body, covered with leatherette (black, green, blue, red and burgundy have been observed). Like many cameras of this period, there are two finders: a prism reflex finder centered above the taking lens and a folding framefinder/sportsfinder on top of the camera. The Rondine has a Linear 7,5 cm/8.8 lens and takes 4×6.5 pictures on 127 film. The mensicus type lens can be zone focused. It has a simple shutter which fires at 1/75s. It also has a flash contact. The right side of the camera with the winding knob can be taken out to load the film, an unusual solution to be sure.
