Signature

Hello,

You have recently added an impressive collection of links to the page about the Fuji FinePix S6000/S6500fd. I am sorry I had to remove the signature, e-mail and date you left in the article. It is a general policy of this sites (and most other wiki sites) not to sign and date the articles, for a number of reasons. First the articles are likely to be modified by someone else at a later date. Second the presence of an author name might deter other ontributors from modifying the page. Moreover there is a "history" tab for each page, giving the list of the contributors to the article and the date of the contributions, and tools to view a past version of the page and to check the differences between the successive versions.

Please note that this policy applies to the articles and that the reverse policy applies to the talk pages (where the content of the articles can be discussed), where it is necessary to sign and date all the posts to make the talk page understandable.

Best regards. --Rebollo fr 04:03, 29 April 2007 (EDT)

Advertising, copyright violation

Somewhere in this series of edits by you, a large chunk of advertising material was added. It can be assumed to be copyright and not released under GFDL, and anyway Camerapedia is not the place for advertising. I've therefore removed it. -- Hoary 09:30, 14 September 2007 (EDT)

Copyright Violation?

Camera Picture was there since the beginning. I just added the text. About the camera description, I don't think including it may be a copyright violation since i described it as "manufacturer description" so it's more like a quoting. Also provided a link to the manufacturer's product web page, so anyone should understand that portion of text came from the manufacturer.

Sorry, no. Every time you add something to CP, you do so in a box immediately under which you read: Please note that all contributions to Camerapedia.org are considered to be released under the GNU Free Documentation License 1.2. You don't have the right to release Fuji's copy under GFDL. You can quote, briefly and in such a way as to avoid the risk that anyone will later rewrite and recycle, but that didn't apply in this long quote, which screams out for depuffification.
Of course you're very welcome to describe this or any other camera in your own words, and to summarize and link or otherwise refer to what others say about it. And of course it's sometimes appropriate to summarize what a manufacturer says too. -- Hoary 21:56, 14 September 2007 (EDT)
