Hello and welcome to Camerapedia.

I am sure that you came here in good faith. As a loyal member of the former Camerapedia community, I have to inform you of the following developments: the status of that former non-commercial website was unilaterally changed yesterday by its founder.

You may know, or not, that the new situation has been diversely appreciated by the former authors, and by people who contributed other contents to the website.

I consider it is my duty to make you know that the current environment is transitional, and will be replaced by a new fully commercial environment in about a month.

Warm regards,

Welcome aboard, JeskaD
I saw that You manage lifestyle and entertainment wikis. In a camera wiki we have just a few entertaining or infotainment articles. Most of them were written by me under Category Essayistic. Lifestyle cameras are also part of camera history. In the heydays of the boy scouts movement special cheap cameras were offered for the youth. For example the French Lumière Scoutbox, yes indeed, made by the famous brothers Lumière's company, the two brothers who introduced movie projection to the World. But they also set a first standard for color film. Ooops, now I have linked such a "stub" page like "film". It would be great if we would find an own author for that glossary topic, but we are glad to have found that link to a good review of film history. It was the wiki founder lbstone's intention not only to write pages for the wiki but also to link the camera pages world of the web to it. The earliest team members and contributors wanted to create a serious web resource. This stayed the project's direction until today. Rebollo_fr is the main contributor from the beginnings until today. I guess that after your due diligence walkthrough you'll link it to a technology category of wikia's menu.

U. Kulick,
Thanks for the note. To clarify, at Wikia, the loosely defined "Lifestyle" category encompasses a wide range of topics from the serious to the sublime, and ranges from communities who are extremely encyclopedic to those who are a bit more loose. We've also got an amazing technical camera wiki that you may be familiar with CHDK wiki. Pretty much everything one could possibly write about, aside from Entertainment or Gaming, is included within the larger "Lifestyle" category. I work on a bunch of different things here at Wikia, so I'm happy to help out however I can whatever the right category is for this wiki.
